Read MoreI get asked a lot about what diets are best for weight loss. Well, that depends. Whether it's Whole 30, low-carb, high protein, high fat, or a cleanse, if you want to lose weight AND KEEP IT OFF, you need to find something that works for you. That means being able to do it consistently (ideally, at least 80% of the time for life), and being able to measure the results not only on the scale, but how it makes you feel. Here are my secrets to staying slim.

Read MoreEvery day, skin is subject to oil, perspiration, debris, makeup, and environmental pollutants. These factors, combined with aging, health and diet, can make skin look aged, feel rough, and become dehydrated. In addition, these factors can also act as a barrier to the skin, preventing it from effectively benefitting from your skincare products. Products such as cleansers, exfoliators and masks help detoxify the skin by cleaning pores and removing dead skin cells along with environmental buildup on the skin’s surface.
To help keep your skin looking its best:
Cleanse twice daily: This helps remove surface impurities.
Practice skin brushing: Similar to exfoliating, dry brushing helps stimulate the skin’s surface and remove dead skin cells.
Use a mask: Full-body or face masks draw out impurities from the skin’s surface, helping prevent clogged pores and remove excess oils.
Relax with self-massage: Start at the feet and work your way up the body using light, upward strokes, to help blood flow, release stress and restore positive energy.
Sweat: Sweating can quickly and effectively discharge the body of toxins, so vigorous workouts and the use of steam are effective for detoxifying skin.
Stay hydrated: Drink at least 8 glasses of water daily. Hydrating helps your body flush out toxins.
For skin detoxification, I love Arbonne’s skin care products, which are inspired by ancient Ayurvedic spa practices. Arbonne helps detoxify the body by cleansing the skin’s surface of impurities while also protecting the skin’s moisture barrier. With the integration of key botanical extracts that support detoxification and enhance skin radiance, plus oils and minerals, Arbonne makes my skin feel radiant and healthy. If you take classes at a fitness studio, find out what steps they’re taking to prevent the spread of illness. They should increase their cleaning, have sanitizer readily available, and reduce the size of classes to keep a safe distance from others. Some studios are also offering streaming video so you can do the class in the comfort of your home.
If you use a personal trainer in a gym, find out what times of day are less crowded. Usually the middle of the day is quieter. If you go during prime hours, make sure you’re at a safe distance from others, or request that you be in an area near an open door or outdoors for more ventilation.
Wherever you workout, clean all equipment before and after use. Wash your hands before and after your workout, and don’t touch your face. Use a towel when lying on equipment and to wipe your perspiration.
Exercise in an outdoor park, take a hike or go for a bike ride. If you do it with friends, stay at a safe distance.
If you must stay at home, ask your personal trainer to send you your exercises with pictures or videos. If you use an exercise app or program from the internet, make sure it’s appropriate for your body and your goals. There’s lots of content out there, but it can be confusing to sort out.
